About Kristan Kelsch

While attending California State University, Chico, Kristan Kelsch knew she wanted to specialize in Living Trusts and Wills while also expanding her legal profession, so in addition to going to college, she studied and obtained her paralegal certificate in May 1988.

Kristan graduated from CSU, Chico with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration.  In 1994, she earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.
 
Kristan’s first legal position was with the Law Office of Carol Ouye Hisatomi, where she assisted in all phases of probate procedures, trust and wills drafting, and real estate matters. In November 1995, she became a Deputy District Attorney for Yolo County and was a member of the misdemeanor team.  
 
In 1997, she joined John H. Barker & Associates where she practiced as a private defense attorney and as a court appointed public defender for the County of Amador.  In early 1998, she was employed by the Office of the District Attorney, Yuba County, in order to pursue further trial work as a Deputy District Attorney.  From 1999 until she opened her own law practice KLKLAW GROUP, P.C. in 2004, she was General Corporate Counsel for a multi-million dollar corporation, where she was responsible for all legal matters.
 
Kristan’s broad legal experience includes being the lead trial attorney in over twenty jury trials, corporate general counsel where she was responsible for overseeing complex multi-jurisdictional litigation, and all administrative and transactional-based law, and her favorite area of practice, all aspects of Estate Planning.
 
Kristan is a member of the State Bar of California, has her Securities 6 & 63 license, and her California State Insurance License.
